The Training Institute at Silver Spring Day School (SSDS) provides high quality training for early childhood educators. Our workshops are taught by dynamic, experienced instructors who combine theory and practice to give you new perspective on your work with children. You'll learn techniques that you can use immediately in your classroom or business.

Silver Spring Day School is approved by the State of Maryland to deliver Core of Knowledge training hours. Workshops may be offered in person or on Zoom.

Certificate Requirements

Participants MUST

Arrive no later than 20 minutes after the training start time

Attend all sessions

Stay for the entire duration of the training

Keep cell phones off during training

Successfully complete the training assessment

For Online Training:

Webinars will be offered via Zoom

Zoom invitation and Password will be sent by email 24 hours before workshop

Cancellation Policy

Silver Spring Day School reserves the right to cancel training due to illness or insufficient registration. In case of cancellation by SSDS, participants will be notified by email/phone and all fees will be refunded.

Participants may cancel their registration up to 48 hours before scheduled training by email, and receive a refund of course fee less a $10 cancellation fee. If participants cancel after that time, the registration fee is forfeited.

In case of inclement weather, SSDS follows the policy of Montgomery County Public School buildings, including cancellation and delays. Training will be rescheduled if canceled due to weather conditions.
