Tuesday, November 17, 2020 7:30 - 8:30 pm, online, free, registration required

Join us for a light-hearted and calming evening of connecting with one another, and with the natural serenity within.  We will learn and practice some mindfulness techniques; break into smaller groups to discuss/brainstorm/practice using mindfulness to transform any challenging situations you are facing yourself, with your family, or with coworkers during this current unsettling time in our world; and end with a guided meditation for deep calm.  You will leave feeling inspired and equipped to immediately begin practicing mindfulness strategies for greater calm in your life.

Tanory Ateek is a yoga and meditation teacher who lives in Silver Spring, MD.  Her two children attended SSDS, and she taught Drama/Music at SSDS for six years.  You might remember her playful approaches to teaching mindfulness to children through music and collaborative story-telling.  A stressful career in International Development and Advocacy brought Tanory to yoga and meditation and ever since, she has been working with adults and children to find creative resources for resilience and strength during times of stress.

Parent Cafe:  Creating Family Traditions

Tuesday, December 15, 2020 7:30 - 8:30 pm, online, free, registration required

Family traditions are great ways to create a sense of warmth and belonging for ourselves and our kids.
As parents, it's up to us to decide whether to continue old family traditions or make up new ones.  They don't have to be big or elaborate!

This Parent Cafe event will be mostly time to meet and chat with other parents in breakout rooms.  We'll have some questions available to help stimulate discussion.  Come join us to share some of your own family traditions and hear some great ideas from other families!
