- We can only begin assisting financially when you are at least 20 weeks along in your pregnancy and matched with a family.

- Texas Adoption Center is bound by the laws of Texas about what we can assist you with financially and for how long. If you have any questions, ask your Adoption Specialist.

- The goal of financially assisting you is to keep you safe and stable during your pregnancy and while you recover from delivery.

- If you are not working your adoption plan, staying in regular touch with your Adoption Specialist, attending doctor’s appointments, we won’t be able to assist you financially.

- If we’ve tried to reach you for 2 days and you have not responded, we will assume you are no longer working with us and we will no longer fund your PEX card.

- In order to pay your rent, your Adoption Specialist must be able to see where you live and speak with your landlord.

- Rent is paid directly to your landlord between the 2nd and 3rd of every month.

- Utilities and cell phone are paid directly to the company unless they’re included in your rent.

- Funding for groceries, hygiene products, and transportation are given to you on a PEX card.  You will receive an amount distributed daily by an automatic transfer to your PEX card.  You can choose to use your funding every day or save up a few days for a bigger shopping.

- We are only able to assist with a maximum of $300 towards amount for maternity clothing.  We break the amount up over the course of your pregnancy.  We add this amount to your PEX card when you’re ready to use it.

- Emergency funding is NOT available.  If you anticipate a financial emergency, please let your Adoption Specialist know as soon as possible so we can avoid a crisis.

- Funding for your living expenses is paid by the adoptive family and passed through the agency to help you stay safe and stable during your pregnancy.

- In Texas, it is illegal for adoptive parents to give you money unless they’re paying your living expenses through a licensed agency, like ours.

- Adoptive parents are aware they are not allowed to give you money directly.  They are required to refer you back to your Adoption Specialist and let the Agency know if you ask them directly for money.

- If you choose to parent after receiving expenses, you will not be required to pay back the funds you received.
