Congratulations Family:

Welcome to the 2024 Summer Youth Works Program (SYW)! This program is designed to
provide gainful opportunities for teens while connecting them with potential employers and
providing them with positive role models and structured activities.

The SYW Advisory Board is looking forward to a productive and exciting summer. Selected
students are required to participate in the Georgia Best program, during soft skills training. This
class is necessary for success in the program.

Once the teens have completed the soft skills class, they will begin working with their assigned
employer on June 10, 2024. The paid summer employment is for eight weeks beginning June 3,
2024 and ending July 26, 2024.
 
Expectations of Students:
It is MANDATORY that each student completes the soft skills class, before going to
work.

If a student does not report to class, it is an automatic dismissal from the program.

All students are required to be on time for class, beginning at 8:00 AM and ending at
12:00 PM.

Students are required to sign the Acknowledgement Form, signifying they understand
the expectations of the Summer Youth Works Program.

Each student must follow the policy and procedures presented to them from their
employer. If the student does not comply, this could result in termination of
employment.

Expectations of Parents:
Make sure student arrives on time for class and to their place of employment.

Encourage student to do their best.

Sign the Acknowledgement Form, giving the student permission to participate in the
program.

Expectations of Employer:
All student employees will be paid $10 per hour, minimum.

All student employees must work a minimum of 32 hours per week.
