Zone 1 Election

Use this form to declare your candidacy for a Zone 1 (NH, ME, and VT) Eastern Region Board of Directors seat.

Submissions must be received no later than January 12, 2025 by 11pm.

Eligibility

A) Candidates must be members in good standing, certified at Level I, II or III, and in at least their fourth year of continuous membership.

B) Candidates must live or work in the Zone in which they wish to run.

C) At this time, the board seeks people with skill sets in philanthropy, marketing, finance, new media, legal, human resources, and or connections with similar nonprofit, sports-related organizations.

ABOUT BEING A BOARD MEMBER

If you are interested in serving on the Eastern Board of Directors, the following information should help you discern if this role is a good “fit” for you. The Board looks strategically at possibilities and opportunities for the Eastern Region and the National organization. We interact and respond to the ideas and concerns of our membership, and are responsible for monitoring the performance of the CEO. Board members serve a voluntary 3-year term of service, and are expected at two in-person meetings per year. In between those meetings, the Board meets periodically over Zoom. Additionally, each Board member also supports the Board’s goals through sub-committee work.

While members elected from Zones ensure the board benefits from geographically diverse perspectives, they represent the interests of the entire Eastern membership, as do all board members under the Policy Governance model, which the Board adopted in 2019. Each candidate will be provided with:

1) a profile on the Eastern Election webpage which will be broadcast via e-mail to members.

2) the unedited statements will be made available to the membership in the Winter issue of the SnowPro posted on our website in February.

3) the opportunity to speak to the membership during an online Membership Meeting, Wednesday February 12 at 7pm EST.

Statements will be reproduced as submitted, subject to verification of factual information. You must submit this form by 11pm on January 12, 2025 to be eligible. A copy of this form will be e-mailed to you, so please confirm your email before submitting.

Zone 1 members will receive an electronic ballot notification via e-mail invitation. Voting concludes on March 2nd, and the results will be announced by April 1st, 2025.
