2022 Educational Offering Application

NOTE:  AVAHO has the right to review all educational materials prior to giving final approval, e.g., slide decks.  Educational programs that are relevant to all AVAHO members (including non-physicians and pharmacists) are preferred.  Please submit this completed form to the AVAHO Executive Director at execdirector@avaho.org.

Types of Available Programs:

  1. Educational program during annual meeting ($50,000): These programs are provided during a meal at the annual conference, providing the sponsor with focused access to all conference participants. These are generally non-CME and may provide promotional information provided by the sponsor. CME-eligible programs must meet non-branding requirements as set forth by our CE provider before acceptance as a meeting symposium.
  2. Educational program: SIG-Specific ($7,500): Educational opportunities and programs targeted at a specific audience within AVAHO’s membership, known as Special Interest Groups (SIGs). These groups (in the table below) benefit from profession-specific, targeted information. These meetings, either virtual or in person, may occur at any time throughout the year and will be approved on a case-by-case basis by the Education Committee of AVAHO. SIG-Specific opportunities are not available during the Annual Meeting. CE-eligible topics and presentations are strongly encouraged.
  3. Live Stream Session/Webinar ($5,000): These are sessions offered live, with accompanying registration, and active engagement or participation by attendees. AVAHO assists in marketing these opportunities to its members. While CE-eligible webinars are always encouraged, AVAHO will consider non-CE topics of high interest to its members. Sponsors may choose to add “on-demand” to their webinar for an additional $5,000. The webinar will be available on the AVAHO website for members for 12 months.
  4. On-Demand Webinar ($5,000): These webinars are stored within the member hub of the AVAHO website for a predetermined time (usually 12 months, unless otherwise negotiated). There is no registration for these webinars. AVAHO assists in marketing these topics to its members and provides viewership data to sponsors (number of views, trends in viewership, and feedback provided by viewers). Live Stream Sessions may be placed on the site on-demand upon request. While CE-eligible webinars are always encouraged, AVAHO will consider non-CE topics of high interest to its members.
  5. Other: AVAHO will review special requests for educational programs, opportunities, and information that is beneficial to its members. This may include a series of special trainings, a special event, roundtable discussions, or other activity of interest. If you have an idea for a special opportunity, please discuss with the Executive Director.

For AVAHO Annual Meeting Non-CE Symposia Applications:

  • AVAHO will be offering a total of TWO (2) symposia slots in 2022. These will be held during lunch on Friday, September 16th and Saturday, September 17th.
  • The cost for each symposia is $50,000.
  • Deadline for applications is May 31, 2022
  • AVAHO anticipates attendance of 300 at each symposia.

Selection Criteria:

All applicants will have equal opportunity to submit applications for educational programs and symposia sponsorships. Applications will be chosen based on:

  1. Fit, relevance, and appropriateness of the proposed topic to the educational and professional development needs of AVAHO members;
  2. Preference is given to new and novel treatments, topics not previously covered in the last 12 months or last 3 annual meetings, and topics that are especially relevant to the VA Healthcare System and to the Veteran population;
  3. Approval of proposed speaker(s) by the AVAHO Education Committee

  • AVAHO is committed to evaluating all applications in a timely and unbiased manner.
  • All slides must be submitted for review and approval by the AVAHO Education Committee prior to the educational event or uploading of evergreen materials.
