MILTON is launching an FAA-approved Space Camp for rising second through fifth graders. Space Camp Director Melinda Viteri is a MILTON educator, NASA educator and FAA licensed pilot and educator. For one extraordinary week, campers will be immersed in an exciting STEM-based program with access to industry experts, behind the scenes and specialized tours, and hands-on learning opportunities to build rockets, conduct space-related experiments, fly on simulators, and more!
The camp will run from June 24-29 from 8:30am to 3:30pm (with optional aftercare until 5:30pm). MILTON's Space Camp will be based at the North Campus for your convenience. Cost for participation is $500 and includes transportation to three unique field trips. Space is limited to 20 campers. The camp will be open to the community and registration will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
Join the Mission Crew! MILTON's Space Camp is designed to fuel children's curiosity and interests through dynamic, real world experiences. Guided by industry experts, our students will participate in engineering projects, physics experiments, junior ground school, STEM lab activities, and more. They will gain a broad understanding of flight and space through hands-on activities, interactions with industry experts, and private tours of NASA Goddard, College Park Airport Museum, Udvar Hazy and the Potomac Airfield.
