Purpose of the Foundation

Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Foundation was created in 1998 in order to fund church related and outreach projects beyond funds provided by the church itself. Funds contributed to the Foundation may be designated for a specific purpose or provided for general use. The Foundation funds projects out of the interest earned on the principal contributed for that purpose.

Types of projects funded

The purpose of this request for proposal is to solicit applications for grants to outreach projects. It is the goal of the Foundation to fund projects that support mission and outreach, buildings and equipment, Christian education, worship and music, and other Christian based projects as approved by the board. We particularly give priority to projects that promote Christian values and programs where our grant can make the most impact.

This grant is for a one year project. We do not support projects for political purposes. A project may request a grant each year, but receipt of a grant one year is no guarantee of a grant in future years. To be eligible for a grant, the grantee must be a 501( c ) (3) organization and have been in existence a minimum of one year.

Grant Application Process

All requests for grants should be submitted on the attached application with additional sheets attached as necessary. All applications should be submitted to the address below by March 15 during the year of request for funding.
